Defenseman Dalton Reum has been traded to the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for forward Alexandre Carrier, the Atlanta Gladiators announced Tuesday.
Carrier, 26, (pronounced CARRY-eh) spent time in Utah, Orlando and Wheeling last season in the ECHL. In 45 combine games for the three clubs, the St-Elzear, PQ native earned 14 points (3-11-14) and 75 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward has accumulated 34 points (9-25-34) and 332 penalty minutes in 171 ECHL games for six different teams. The former alternate captain with Val-d’OR in the QMJHL set career highs in goals (5) and penalty minutes (108) in 47 games with the Adirondack Thunder in 2015-16. The sixth-year pro has also registered 18 AHL games all with the Albany Devils.
Reum, 25, appeared in 46 games with the Gladiators between last season and the current campaign. The Camrose, AB native managed eight points (1-7-8) and a minus-11 plus/minus rating in his time with Atlanta.
