Atlanta Releases All 36 Home Dates

DULUTH, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators announced on Friday, June 14th the dates of all 36 home games for the 2019-20 season.

The Gladiators begin home play with a two-game stand on October 18th and 19th vs. South Carolina and Greenville, respectively. The remaining 34 games will be played over the following six months with a wide variety of teams for the Atlanta fan base to watch including seeing teams such as Jacksonville (7), Greenville (6), Orlando (6), South Carolina (4), Florida (3), Utah (2), and Indy (1).

The Gladiators will play their 17th season at the Infinite Energy Arena, where they have called home since the team relocated from Mobile, Al. during the 2003-04 season.

“We’re excited to release our home schedule as we get closer to putting together one of our most competitive teams in recent history, along with an absolutely exciting promotions calendar” stated Jerry James, Team President “I think we’ve got something special planned that our fan base is going to love. We’re pulling out everything available to make this season something the fans will remember for a long time".

Schedule Breakdown

Atlanta will face a total of 10 teams from across the ECHL in their home schedule, including all South Division teams (Orlando, Jacksonville, Greenville, Norfolk, Florida, and South Carolina). The Gladiators will also host North Division opponents Brampton and Adirondack, while also hosting Mountain Division Utah and Central Division Indy.

While the Gladiators kick off their home schedule with two home dates in the month of October, they will find consistency in the month of November and December playing six home games each month against a slew of South Division opponents. The Gladiators lone non-conference game, a Sunday Matinee, will feature an Indy Fuel team that missed the playoffs by two points with a 35-32-5 record.

The Gladiators November stretch is highlighted with a Norfolk match up the day prior to Thanksgiving and the team will enjoy Thanksgiving with a day off before returning to action on Black Friday against Greenville.

The Christmas break will be a chance for Atlanta to celebrate with the Gladiators as they will face South Carolina in a back-to-back after Christmas day off. These two games could provide closure to a fan base who watched their Gladiators miss the post-season due to a home loss in the last regular season game to South Carolina.

The months of January and February will give the Atlanta fans a chance to see their team often as the Gladiators will have home ice nine times in January with a three-day All-Star break and seven times in February.

January also showcases Western Conference Utah in a back-to-back, fresh off a 2018-19 Kelly Cup Playoff berth with a regular season 37-26-9 record.
