Murovich Returns to Glads

Murovich Returns to Glads

The Gladiators announced Wednesday that forward Tyler Murovich will return for another stint with the organization after agreeing to terms for the 2015-2016 season. It was a really easy decision to resign with the Gladiators, said Murovich. I have been lucky to have played in a lot of nice places but no place has been a greater fit or treated me better than the Gladiators. Murovich, 25, finished this past season skating in his third tenure for the Gladiators after he was claimed off waivers by Gwinnett on March 3, 2015 from the Orlando Solar Bears. The Pittsburgh, PA native concluded the 2014-15 season notching three goals and seven assists for 10 points in just 16 games with the Glads. Prior to his return to Metro Atlanta, Murovich tallied ten points in 44 games played combined between the Wheeling Nailers and Solar Bears this past season. The 5-foot-9, 187-pound forward also spend two previous seasons sporting the Gladiator garnet and gold skating with the Gladiators from 2011-2013. Murovich registered 70 points in 113 games played during those two seasons. 2010-11 with Gwinnett marked Murovichs best as a professional as he produced career highs in assists (31), points (47) and games played (71). We brought Murv back for his leadership, strong work ethic and the energy he brings to a lineup, said Gladiators Head Coach Andy Brandt. He leads by example on and off the ice at all times and whether it be in the gym or during a game, we will always get 100% effort out of him. Murovich has competed in 329 games as a professional in the AHL and ECHL. In 64 career AHL games, Murovich has eight goals and seven assists with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Iowa Wild, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Syracuse Crunch. Prior to turning professional, Murovich appeared in 189 major junior contests for the OHLs Saginaw Spirit where he generated 153 points from 2007-2010. My goal is to do everything that I can to help our team create a winning atmosphere, added Murovich. I believe in the organization and feel that playing for the Gladiators gives me the best chance at winning the Kelly Cup. There is absolutely no other place where Id rather accomplish that. -###-
