Duluth, GA - The Atlanta Gladiators, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Nashville Predators and the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals, announced on Tuesday that Andrew Jarvis has been named the team’s captain, while Joey Cipollone (home), Brendan Less (home), Ryan Conroy (away), and Mike McNamee (away) have been named alternate captains for the 2026-27 season.
Jarvis earned the captaincy after serving as an alternate captain for the Gladiators last season. The defenseman is entering his third season with the Gladiators and his fifth in the ECHL and is no stranger to wearing a letter. Along with being a part of Atlanta’s leadership group for the 2025-26 season, Jarvis was previously an alternate captain for his senior season at Carleton University and was the captain of the Brockville Braves (CCHL) from 2016-2018.
Last season Jarvis finished with 6 assists in 57 games, and in his time with Atlanta has scored 6 goals and 13 assists for 19 points in 116 games. Over the course of his ECHL career, he has scored 6 goals and 28 assists for 34 points in 217 games, having played for the Allen Americans, Tulsa Oilers, and Atlanta Gladiators.
Joey Cipollone and Brendan Less will serve as the Gladiators’ alternate captains for home games. Both Cipollone and Less carry a wealth of experience at the ECHL level, with Cipollone entering his fourth season as a pro and his third with Atlanta; and Less entering his fifth season as a pro and his second with the Gladiators.
Entering the season, no active skater on the roster has played in more games with the Gladiators than Joey Cipollone, with the forward having played in 140 games with Atlanta and notching 32 goals and 39 assists for 71 points. Last season he posted a career best of 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in 72 games.
Less was acquired via trade last season and has almost 200 games of ECHL experience under his belt, having played in 180 ECHL games with the Worcester Railers, Iowa Heartlanders, Adirondack Thunder, and Atlanta Gladiators, scoring 7 goals and 49 assists for 65 points.
Ryan Conroy and Mike McNamee will serve as the Gladiators alternate captains on the road. Conroy and McNamee were both newcomers to the Gladiators locker room last season and will now wear an “A” for Atlanta in enemy territory.
Conroy was acquired by the Gladiators via trade with the Adirondack Thunder in the summer of 2025. He was named an alternate captain midway through the 2025-26 season following the departure of Louis Boudon and quickly proved to be a leader on and off the ice, scoring 5 goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 67 games for Atlanta on the blue line.
McNamee came out of a four-year retirement from hockey to join the Gladiators last season and logged 7 goals and 18 assists for 25 points in 56 games. The 33-year-old forward has experience wearing an “A” at multiple levels, having done so with the Aalborg Pirates (Denmark), the Sherbrooke Phoenix (QMJHL), and his alma matter Carleton University (USports). McNamee also was an assistant coach at Carleton during his retirement from 2021-2025.
