RECAP: Gladiators Shutout Ghost Pirates

DULUTH, Ga. - Goaltender David Tendeck stopped all 23 shots he faced as the Atlanta Gladiators (19-9-2-0) shutout the Savannah Ghost Pirates (10-15-5-0) 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at home and kicked off 2023 with a win and extended their winning streak to three games.

First Star: David Tendeck (ATL) - 23 save shutout

Second Star: Cody Sylvester (ATL) - 1 goal

Third Star: Kaid Oliver (ATL) - 1 goal

Atlanta kicked off 2023 by getting on the board early in the first period making it 1-0 (12:10). Cody Sylvester scored his third goal in as many days as he sent a pass from Eric Neiley bar-down for his 12th tally of the season. 

Atlanta and Savannah exchanged scoring chances in the second period, but both goaltenders stood tall to keep it a 1-0 game after 40 minutes.

Atlanta extended their lead in the third period to make it 2-0 (4:49). Kaid Oliver broke in on a 2-on-1 with Odeen Tufto and sent a shot by the Savannah netminder for his fifth of the season. 

David Tendeck made 23 saves in the win, Isaiah Saville made 34 saves on 36 shots in the loss for Savannah.
