STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics to promote activities that focus on problem-solving, creativity, and analytical thinking. Opposed to traditional educational techniques, STEAM brings all five disciplines together to develop critical thinking skills and encourage all students to contribute and be engaged.
Community Development Coordinator, Amira Davis, represented the Glads in the 2019 STEAMFest, hosted by Stone Mountain – Lithonia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and Redan High School. STEAMFest showcased educational activities, workshops, exhibitions, and entertainment for parents and students to participate in.
