Svoboda Returns, Howe Signed

DULUTH, Ga. –  The Atlanta Gladiators announced on Thursday that the Nashville Predators have loaned goalie Miroslav Svoboda back from the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, and the team has signed forward Tyler Howe.

Svoboda, 23, returns to Atlanta after his call-up to the National Hockey League and American Hockey League. The Czech Republic native served as the backup goalie for the Nashville Predators for one game as well as three contests for the Milwaukee Admirals. At the start of the season with the Gladiators, the 6-foot-3, 192-pound netminder went 2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and .946 save percentage in two starts. Svoboda ranks in the top five in the ECHL in every major goaltending category.

Howe, 27, rejoins Atlanta where he attended training camp and notched an assist in the Gladiators’ preseason game. The 6-foot-6, 229-pound forward has accumulated 38 points and 307 penalty minutes in 120 pro games, in various leagues, over the course of his six-year professional career. The Falmouth, MA native began the season with the Evansville Thunderbolts of the SPHL and recorded seven penalty minutes in four games.
