DULUTH, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators announced on Sunday that they have traded forward Shane Eiserman and future considerations to South Carolina for forward Garret Ross.
Ross, 26, comes to Atlanta after being traded to South Carolina from Fort Wayne recently but not playing a game for the Stingrays. The sixth-year pro registered two assists and 19 penalty minutes in eight games for Fort Wayne to start this season. The Dearborn Heights, MI native has spent his entire pro career, prior to this year, in the AHL amassing 114 points (51g, 63a) and 397 penalty minutes in 288 games for Rockford, Tucson and Rochester. The former fifth round draft pick (139th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks had his best season in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs in 2014-15 when he notched 43 points (21g, 22a), a plus-20 rating and 100 penalty minutes in 69 games. The 6-foot, 172-pound forward registered 170 points (82g, 88a) in 217 OHL games for the Saginaw Spirit before turning pro. Ross set career Major-Junior highs for Saginaw while serving as the team’s assistant captain in 2012-13 in goals (44), assists (46), penalty minutes (114) and a plus-minus rating of plus-20 in 61 games played.
Eiserman, 23, heads to South Carolina after playing four games with the Gladiators and scoring three points (1g, 2a). The Newburyport, MA native was traded from Adirondack to Atlanta on October, 30th. The rookie forward posted 51 points (17g, 34a) in 125 games for the University of New Hampshire before turning pro this season.
