DULUTH, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators announced on Tuesday that defenseman Olivier Galipeau has been recalled to the Providence Bruins of the AHL.
Galipeau, 21, heads to the AHL for the first time in his pro career. The Montreal, PQ native attended training camp with the P-Bruins before posting a team-high nine points (3g, 6a) in 11 games for the Gladiators. The rookie D-man also leads Atlanta in power play goals with three. Before turning pro this season, the offensive-defenseman notched 74 points (25g, 54a) in 67 games split between Chicoutimi and Acadie-Bathurst in the QMJHL. Galipeau also added 20 points (5g, 15a) in 20 playoffs games en route to a Memorial Cup Championship with the Titan of Acadie-Bathurst.
