DULUTH, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators announced on Saturday that goaltender Sean Bonar has signed a professional try-out contract with the Providence Bruins of the AHL and former Glad goalie, Dan Vladar has been recalled to the NHL’s Boston Bruins.
Bonar, 27, heads to the AHL for the first time in his five-year pro career. The Delta, BC native attended training camp with the P-Bruins and appeared in two preseason games. The former SPHL MVP has played three games for the Gladiators this season and has accrued a 3.37 goals-against average. Last season, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound goalie amassed a record of 13-10-1 with a 2.69 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.
Vladar, 21, heads to the NHL for the first time in his career. The former third round draft pick (75th overall) by Boston in 2015 has spent the majority of the last two seasons with the Gladiators. During the 2017-18 campaign with Atlanta, the Czech Republic native set career highs in goals-against average (2.96) and save percentage (.911). If Vladar sees any game action for the Bruins during his recall, he will become the 21st former Gladiator to appear in a NHL game.
