Gladiators for Kids Foundation Renamed Atlanta Gladiators Foundation

DULUTH, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators announced today that the team’s charity, the ‘Gladiators for Kids Foundation’ will now be known as the ‘Atlanta Gladiators Foundation’ and a new logo has been unveiled.

“We take great pride in the impact our ‘Gladiators for Kids Foundation’ has made on the community in the past, but now it’s time to do even more,” said Team President Scott Henrichsen. “Kids will still be a main focus of the foundation but now we can expand to helping our community as a whole with this new identity.”

The ‘Gladiators for Kids Foundation’ was established during the team’s first season in Duluth, GA in 2003-04 and has raised over $432,000 for various charities across the Metro-Atlanta area. The highlight of the foundation’s fundraising efforts over the years has been the incredible proceeds earned from auctioning the team’s game-worn specialty jerseys. The renaming of the charity will reflect the organization’s overall mission to expand on its community outreach.

“We have a new name and a great new logo, but the mission remains the same to help as many people in need in our community as we can,” said Director of Community and Youth Hockey Relations Clyde Patterson. “We do, however, now have higher goals and ambitions to assist even more underprivileged members in our community without being limited to just children, we and hope to do so for years to come.”

The Gladiators will continue to raise funds for the foundation through specialty jersey auctions, special events, in-game experiences and much more. All the usual ways to donate will continue and fans should expect to see even more opportunities to support the Atlanta Gladiators Foundation.

The 16th season of Atlanta Gladiators hockey begins at the Infinite Energy Arena on Friday, October 19th against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at 7:35 PM. For ticket information, visit the official team website at www.atlantagladiators.com or call the main office line at 770-497-5100.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation’s premier "AA" hockey league. All home games are played at the 10,867-seat Infinite Energy Arena, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth – where parking is always free.
