Providence Assigns Ginn to Atlanta

The Atlanta Gladiators announced Tuesday that goalie Matt Ginn has been assigned by the Providence Bruins of the AHL.

Ginn, 26, returns to the Gladiators for his third season in Atlanta. The Lindsay, ON native led the Glads in wins with 19 last year and was second among ECHL goaltenders in saves with a total of 1,462. During the 2015-16 season, the 5-foot-11, 176-pound netminder posted a 17-16-3 record, 2.87 goals-against average (GAA) and .903 save percentage in his first stint with the Gladiators. The third-year pro has appeared in one AHL game (2015-16) for the Providence Bruins and earned a 2.01 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. Ginn started his pro career with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL for a seven-game tenure at the end of the 2014-15 season going 5-1-1 with a 2.12 goals-against average and .932 save percentage after he completed a four-year career at Holy Cross College of the NCAA. In his time as a Crusader, Ginn managed a sub-three GAA and career save percentage of .960.
