Atlanta Inks Power Forward Taylor Stefishen

The Atlanta Gladiators announced Tuesday they have signed forward Taylor Stefishen to a standard professional contract.

Stefishen (Pronounced STA-fish-EN), 27, competed last season with the Dijon Hockey Club in France’s Ligue Magnus where he notched 12 goals and 23 assists for 35 points in 44 games. The former fifth round pick (136th overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft started his 2017-18 campaign with the Edinburgh Capitals of the EIHL where he skated in four games before signing with the Gladiators. Prior to his three-year stretch in Europe, the 6-foot, 185-pound left winger spent two seasons in the ECHL with the, now defunct, Elmira Jackals. With Elmira, the fourth-year pro, scored 19 goals and added 25 assists for 44 points in 69 games played. His productivity with the Jackals translated into a 10-game stint in the AHL split between the Texas Stars and Adirondack Flames. Before turning pro, the North Vancouver, BC native played five years of collegiate hockey with The Ohio State University and the University of Calgary. He recorded 21 points (8-13-21) in 42 games over two seasons with the Buckeyes before transferring to the CIS. As a Dino, Stefishen tallied 24 goals and 53 assists for 77 points in 79 games.

The Atlanta Gladiators 15th anniversary season continues at the Infinite Energy Arena on Friday, November 3rd against the Kansas City Mavericks at 7:35 PM. For ticket package information, visit the official team website at www.atlantagladiators.com or call the main office line at 770-497-5100.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation’s premier "AA" hockey league. All home games are played at the 10,867-seat Infinite Energy Arena, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth – where parking is always free. The Gladiators have established an unrivaled commitment to excellence, maintaining a distinctive reputation for affordable and family-friendly sports entertainment and consistently ranked as one of the top “Things To Do” in the Atlanta area and across the North Georgia region.
