The Atlanta Gladiators announced Tuesday that their Sing for Santa game nights will occur on Friday, December 1st and Friday, December 8th, 2017. Traditionally, the two-game holiday choral event has been held within the same weekend.
With their 2017-2018 home schedule offering two Friday game dates in the beginning of December, the Gladiators made the change to accommodate more Metro Atlanta schools.“We’ve spoken with a number of chorus teachers over the years,” said Gladiators President Joe Gelderman. “What we’ve learned from those conversations is that they prefer the Friday nights because it allows them to remind their students about the concert in the same day as the game.“Our Friday Sing for Santa game nights always fill up quickly, so when the opportunity presented itself this season, we decided to offer the two Fridays instead of the normal Friday/Sunday.”
The Sing for Santa program is open to any choral school or group in the Metro Atlanta area who’s interested in attending the game and performing with other choruses. The giant combined group normally features over 20 choruses, and performs the National Anthem prior to the game, and then a selection of six holiday classics during the 1st intermission.
Groups/schools interested in participating in the 2017 Sing for Santa should contact the Gladiators Front Office at 770-497-5100.
