Atlanta Agrees to Terms with McCadden, Pond

The Atlanta Gladiators have agreed to terms with forwards Patrick McCadden and Tanner Pond, the team announced on Thursday. McCadden, 28, returns to Atlanta for his second season with the team. In 29 games played with the Gladiators last year, the 6-foot, 190-pound forward scored one goal and three assists for four total points. The Chesterfield, Missouri native also amassed 45 penalty minutes.“McCadden is the ultimate team guy” said Gladiators Head Coach Andy Brandt. “He knows what he brings to a team, and he will relentlessly stick up for his teammates. I think the confidence of having spent a full year in the ECHL will lead to further success for Patrick this season.”

Pond, 24, joins the Gladiators after a four year collegiate career at Northeastern University. The 6-foot, 205-pound forward appeared in 109 games with the Huskies, notching five goals and seven assists for twelve total points. The Walled Lake, Michigan native also earned 69 penalty minutes over the course of the four seasons.“Tanner is a player who is a full out competitor,” said Gladiators Head Coach Andy Brandt. “Our research indicates that he excels on the forecheck and is defensibly responsible.”The Atlanta Gladiators 15th anniversary season kicks off at the Infinite Energy Arena on Friday, October 20th against the Florida Everblades at 7:35 PM.
