The Atlanta Gladiators have again partnered with The Cooler in Alpharetta for 2017's Youth Hockey Camp, the team announced on Tuesday. The camp will run Monday, July 10th through Friday, July 14th with session times ranging from 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM, offering young hockey players the chance to improve their game in a fast-paced, professional environment. The camp instructors - including Gladiators Head Coach Andy Brandt and Gladiators Team Captain & Atlanta Fire Director of Player Development Derek Nesbitt - recognize that the off-season presents the best opportunity for athletes to increase their strength and stamina, thus giving them a substantial edge over the competition."We’re excited to bring our camp back for another year," said Brandt. "There are a lot of young hockey players in the Metro Atlanta area and our hope is to help develop certain aspects of their game while having a week of fun."The week-long camp will provide players with an opportunity to focus on refining their skills, both on and off the ice. Participating players will experience four separate segments of training, including two separate hours of on-ice work mixed with two hours of off-ice training focused on hockey specific coordination and cardio exercises as well as dryland stickhandling and shooting work.
