The Atlanta Gladiators announced Tuesday that they have traded forward Justin Buzzeo to the Orlando Solar Bears for forward Alex Gacek and a future consideration. In addition, the club has sent defenseman Nick Trecapelli to the Rapid City Rush to complete a February 4th deal that brought Akim Aliu to Atlanta.Gacek, 23, joins the Gladiators after splitting the season between the South Carolina Stingrays and Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL. In a combined 45 games this year, the Dracut, MA native has scored 22 goals which ranks third most among rookies in the ECHL. The 5-foot-8, 179-pound forward registered 29 points in 26 games for the Solar Bears just prior to today's deal. Before turing pro at the beginning of this season, Gacek played four full years at the University of Miami (Ohio) earning 46 points in 149 games for the Redhawks.
