Atlanta traveled to Greenville on Saturday looking to come away with two points from the Swamp Rabbits, but fell short in a 6-1 loss. Tyler Murovich contributed the Gladiators lone tally in the contest.Greenville got on the board first with a powerplay goal 5:49 into the opening period. Garrett Bembridge knocked in a rebound at the net mouth after the puck ricocheted off the pad of Gladiators goalie, Kent Patterson for his 14th on the year. Joey Houk sent the puck to Jack Combs who took the initial shot that gave them both the assists on the goal. The Swamp Rabbits added their second powerplay marker with 1:49 left in the first. Houk earned his second point of the evening with a wrist shot from the high point that found its way through traffic and past Patterson's right arm. Micheal St. Croix and Richard Nejezchleb received the helpers on the second Greenville tally that sent the home team to the first intermission with a 2-0 lead. Greenville picked up right where they left off in the first and scored three goals to start the middle stanza and obtained a 5-0 lead. Andrew Dommett started off the scoring spree with his fourth of the year off an assist from Josh Nicholls on a quick passing play from behind the net. Nicholls then posted two goals back-to-back for his 14th and 15th of the year. Tyler Murovich cut the Swamp Rabbit lead back to four with his 16th goal of the season. Thomas Frazee threw a saucer pass from the right wing side in front of the goal to an oncoming Murovich who chipped it past the Greenville goalie, Alain Valiquette. Also involved in the play was Patrick D'Amico who collected the secondary assist on the tally. The Swamp Rabbits added an insurance goal in the third that gave them a 6-1 lead. Combs registered his second point of the contest on the breakaway goal. The mark was the 27-year old's team-leading 16th on the year which was unassisted. The final period saw no more goals scored and ended with the Swamp Rabbits the 6-1 victors.
