Donning special Mardi Gras jerseys, the Gladiators looked to get two points on Conference leading Florida on Friday night. Derek Nesbitt passed to Max Everson at the point who wristed a shot over the glove of Florida goaltender, Anthony Peters, to give the home team a 1-0 lead. Kevin Lynch poked the puck free from a Gladiator defender right into the path of a streaking Jon DiSalvatore who slotted the puck into the upper-right corner. The veteran netted his fourth goal of the season while Lynch tallied his 19th helper on the assist. The Gladiators retook the lead on a long slap shot off the stick of Ian Barteaux nine minutes into the second frame. Nunn dropped a pass back to Barteaux who one-timed the puck off the post and into the net for the 2-1 Atlanta lead.
