The San Antonio Rampage have signed forward Brock Higgs of the Atlanta Gladiators to a professional try-out contract, the team announced Monday. Higgs, 23, has been on a tear as of late for the Gladiators as the second-year pro has collected 11 points in his last 10 games. Overall on the season, the Kingston, ON native has posted 15 goals, 11 assists and 26 points in 37 games played for Atlanta. His 15 goals rank second on the team behind only Derek Nesbitt and his league-leading 19 tallies. Today marks the second time Higgs will have signed a PTO contract in the AHL. The 5-11, 185-pound forward registered six points in 16 games for the Worchester Sharks in 2013-14 after completing his senior season at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Higgs will join the Rampage prior to their next contest on Tuesday, January 19th vs. the San Diego Gulls for game number three of their season-long nine game home stand in San Antonio, TX.
