It just wasn’t Atlanta’s night as the Gladiators found themselves on the losing end of an 8-2 battle with the Florida Everblades. Justin Buzzeo and Thomas Frazee would contribute the Glads only two goals in Tuesday nights contest. The Florida Everblades began the scoring early as Brant Harris potted a powerplay goal just 3:17 into the first period right in front of net. The tally came on the first powerplay opportunity of the game and marked the fifth goal for Harris on the season. Evan Bloodoff and Matt Marquardt earned the assists on the play. Ethan Werek doubled the score for Florida at the 7:22 mark of the first period. After picking up the puck at the red line with one man to beat, Werek worked against Gladiators defender Zach Yuen across the face of the goal, sending a shot into the top of the net past the diving Atlanta goaltender, Matt Ginn. The score gave Werek his fourth goal and sixth point of the year.Less than a minute later Mike Aviani made it a three-goal lead for Florida as a deflected shot from Jon DiSalvatore landed directly in front of the net for an easy finish. Corey Syvret tallied the secondary assist on the goal that marked Avianis seventh of the season. The second period saw the Everblades score their fourth goal within the first minute of the frame. Justin Agosta shot a rebounded puck into the net from the center point through a bevy of Gladiators defenders. The goal was Agostas fifth of the season while Matt Stanisz and Gabriel Desjardins recorded their third and fourth assists, respectively.Justin Buzzeo notched the first goal for Atlanta Gladiators on the night 3:02 into the second period. Daniel Bahntge worked the puck around the Florida net and centered it to Buzzeo, who shot it through the legs of the Everblades goaltender, Daniel Altshuller. Bahntge recorded his second helper of the season while J.T. Barnett registered his first of the year with the secondary assist.Matt Willows increased the Everblades lead back to four during their second powerplay opportunity, giving Florida back-to-back man-advantage goals on the night. Willows skated down the right side of the ice during a 2-on-1 chance and drilled a shot by the blocker of new Gladiators goaltender, Andy Iles. Aviani recorded the assist and his second point of the game.A Thomas Frazee goal cut the deficit to three with just over 14 minutes left in the third period. Frazee went coast-to-coast, skating through Everblades defenders and blasting a shot past Florida goalie, Altshuller. The score was Frazees second goal of the year and 10th point.Twenty-nine seconds after the Gladiators cut the lead to three, Bloodoff recorded his third point of the evening with the sixth Everblades goal. The Nelson, British Columbia native skated around the Atlanta net and slotted the puck past the shifting Iles. The Everblades struck again at the 9:29 mark when Desjardins scored after receiving a long pass from Logan Roe behind the Gladiators defense. On the breakaway, the forward beat Iles on a forehand-backhand move for the seventh Everblades goal of the night. With just over three minutes left, Aviani made the score 8-2, notching the final goal of the contest and his second marker of the night.
