Gladiators Add Goaltender Iles

The Atlanta Gladiators announced Wednesday that goaltender Andy Iles and the team have agreed to terms.Iles, 23, completed his first full season of professional hockey last year as the goaltender appeared in 29 games for the Alaska Aces and Florida Everblades of the ECHL. The Ithaca, NY native spent the majority of last season in Florida where he collected 15 wins and a goals-against average of 2.98 in 23 appearances. Iles began his pro career with a short five game stint for the Everblades at the end of the 2013-14 campaign after he completed a standout tenure at Cornell University of the NCAA. Over four years for the Big Red, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound netminder played in 118 games compiling a record of 58-42-17 with nine shutouts, a 2.26 goals-against average and .917 save percentage. Iles made 80 consecutive starts in net for Cornell, the fifth longest streak in NCAA (Division I) history and later broke Ben Scrivens all-time program record for saves (2,962) during his senior season.The Atlanta Gladiators are set to drop the puck on their 13th season at The Arena at Infinite Energy Center in October 2015.
