Treft Named Team Broadcaster

The Gladiators announced on Thursday the hiring of Chris Treft as the club’s new play-by-play announcer for all regular and postseason games on the the Gladiators Broadcast Network. As the new Voice of the Gladiators, Treft will do additional work in maintaining contact with the Metro-Atlanta media, producing in-arena entertainment elements, and contributing content to the official team website. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native spent last season as the number two broadcaster for the Adirondack Flames of the AHL. Prior to his year in Glens Falls, Treft worked as the TV color commentator and broadcasting intern for the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL. In addition to his time in pro hockey, he has accrued experience serving as the voice of the Fort Wayne Federals of the MnJHL, the Fort Wayne High School Hockey Association, and both the 2013 and 2014 Indiana High School State Championships. We are thrilled to welcome Chris to the Gladiators family, said Gladiators Vice President and General Manager of Business Operations Joe Gelderman. He not only impressed us with his ability behind the mic, but also with his experience in sales and video production. We think that Chris’ energy and passion for the sport of hockey will resonate well with our fan base, added Gelderman. I’m confident they’ll enjoy listening to him call our games. The Gladiators are set to drop the puck on their 13th season at Infinite Energy Arena in October 2015.
