Glads Sign Trio of Forwards

The Gladiators announced Wednesday that they have agreed to terms with Forwards Nathan Condon, Kyle Gibbons and Brad Navin for the 2015-2016 season.Condon, 25, was originally drafted in the seventh round, 200th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. The Wausau, WI native began last season, his first as a professional, with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL where he posted four goals and 11 assists in 19 games played. The 6-foot, 197-pound center left the Komets to finish last season with Sparta Sarpsborg of the Norwegian Elite League (GET-ligaen). In 17 games with the Warriors, Condon produced three goals and nine assists to go along with eight points in 11 playoff matches. Nathan is a big strong center that skates incredibly well and has a ton of offensive potential, said Gladiators Head Coach Andy Brandt. We are getting an extremely hungry hockey player looking to make a huge impact on the Gladiators and in this league. Before turning pro, Condon skated four full seasons for the University Of Minnesota Golden Gophers from 2010 to 2014. In 159 collegiate games, Condon amassed 40 goals and 63 assists. Prior to his tenure in the NCAA, Condon had a successful junior career with the Fargo Force of the USHL where he helped the Force reach the Clark Cup Finals in both of his two seasons in North Dakota.Gibbons, 24, Joins the Gladiators after he scored four points last season as a rookie over 23 ECHL games with the Indy Fuel and Wichita Thunder. The native of Westlake, OH spent the majority of the season in Wichita, generating all four of his points in 20 games for the Thunder. Gibbons is a player with good size down the wing that can produce high offensive numbers for our lineup, said Brandt. We are excited for Kyle to come in and put up the numbers we know he can much like he did in his final season in college. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound forward turned pro at the end of the 2013-14 season after he finished up school at Canisius College. He signed with the ECHLs Toledo Walleye where he appeared in 10 games recording three assists. Gibbons was a standout for Canisius, as he registered 130 points in 152 career games. In 2012-13, Gibbons led the Golden Griffins to their first-ever Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) title and a NCAA Division I National Tournament berth, also a first in school history. He finished that season 12th in the NCAA in points (43) and eighth in goals (21). Prior to his time at school, he played one season for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL and recorded 14 goals and 15 assists in 56 games.Navin, 23, is set to embark on his first season in professional hockey after concluding a successful four-season career for the NCAAs University of Wisconsin. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward finished his collegiate career for his home state Badgers with 52 points in 136 games played and was named Team Captain for his senior season in Madison. The native of Waupaca, WI was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the seventh round, 197th overall in the 2011 NHL entry draft.Brad is a very solid power forward, stated Brandt. He did not put up flashy numbers in college but has an unbelievable skill set, great knowledge of the game and very high hockey IQ that will bode well for him at this level.
