After having joined the team late in the 2014-2015 season, defenseman Zach Sarig (pronounced SAH-rig) and forward Justin Buzzeo (pronounced BUZZ-e-oh) become the first signings for the 2015-2016 Gladiators squad. Sarig appeared in 11 games with Gwinnett, while Buzzeo skated in seven, contributing one goal and three assists for four points. Prior to joining the Gladiators in March, Sarig, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound defenseman completed a four-year career at Plymouth State University where he was named captain of the Panthers for the 2014-15 season. He led the team and all MSCA Conference defensemen in points with 27 points (five goals, 22 assists) in 28 games played, a 0.96 PPG average. Im excited to return to the Glads and start from the beginning of the season, Sarig said via email. Im looking forward to getting to work and preparing for October. Buzzeo completed his senior year at Ferris State University before joining the Gladiators, also in March. The Ontario native scored nine goals and 13 assists in 40 games for the Bulldogs during 14-15. The forwards best collegiate year came in 2013-2014, when he was tied for first on the team with 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists). We are excited to have both Zach and Justin back with the Gladiators, said Gladiators Head Coach Andy Brandt Zach brings a high compete level and plays a simple game.
